One evening last week I had the pleasure of photographing Hanna’s Intercity Garden in Twisp. She has created a garden full of herbs, flowers, vegetables and fruit on a small city lot that is also a retreat and a place to rejuvenate the spirit. Her fragrant bath garden delights the nose as well as the eye with its old tub full of clear water and floating herbs and flowers and the sparkle of recycled glass from below the surface. Reflections of blue glass and yellow-orange black-eyed susans create a visual palate that sparks creativity.

I enjoy gardening and visiting gardens and I especially enjoy photographing gardens. Many thanks to Hanna for sharing her garden with me and others.

Hanna sells her fresh and dried herbs and herbal vinegars and spice blends at the local farmers market as well as at retail shops around Washington.
