Feather is new to the Methow, having come from Riverside in the Okanogan Valley. She’s a beautiful palomino quarter horse. Her new owner has saved up her egg money for a long time in order to have a horse of her own and recently her dream came true. I watched one day last week as they practiced in the covered arena at Bear Creek Equestrian Center. It was a cold day after a long week for everyone. Feather is new to a covered arena as well as to the English style of riding. Her young partner is learning the finer points of riding with regular lessons and practices so the two of them are learning together. It looks like a fine partnership that will last for years to come. I look forward to watching them grow and come together as a team.
