Spring Creek Wedding Celebration

September is my favorite wedding month. Well it might just be my favorite month overall. The weather is generally lovely and the light is divine. Shanti and Tasia picked a gorgeous September day for their wedding at the Spring Creek Ranch on the Methow River near Winthrop. The ranch house backdrop and the fields decorated with mule deer fawns made a lovely setting to seal their vows. Shanti is from the Methow Valley and his family still lives here. Tasia grew up just across the North Cascades and now the two of them now live there so they can easily celebrate anniversaries and other imortant events with both families. Since many folks travelled from afar, it was a weekend event and everyone enjoyed Methow valley life. Salyna’s Specialty Cakes provided the beautiful red velvet cake. Before the wedding, there was a constant stream of people running up and down the narrow stairs of the updated, old ranch house as they readied themselves for the big event. Tasia’s incredible dress needed its own handler to make the tight turns! Spring Creek is a working ranch, growing organic alfalfa hay and a variety of other crops. The couple used old vinyl records and a silver sharpie for a guest book. The big yard behind the ranch house provided plenty of room for dinner and games and kids to play and quiet spaces for conversations and reflection. After dinner, as the light shifted to the muted colors of dusk, shoes were kicked off and the music began for dancing the night away.
