Methow Arts is one of the organizations that keeps life interesting in the Methow Valley and Okanogan County. They regularly bring fascinating performing artists to our remote rural region (see my blog post on Ten Tiny Dances for an example) and they support local artists in various ways. I was recently asked to photograph one of those local artists – Julie Wenzel, artistic director of the Merc Playhouse - for the Methow Arts’ quarterly magazine’s cover story. Each issue highlights one local artist. Julie was in the midst of casting for The Music Man and also directing a reader’s theatre performance and she was accompanied by her two month old baby. She’s very talented and capable of multi-tasking on many levels.
