Feast of Field and Stream

Last night at Bluebird Grain Farm 150 people came together to celebrate local foods, clean rivers and streams and the fish that live in them. The event was sponsored by the Washington Water Project of Trout Unlimited and hosted by the generous Lucy family of Bluebird Grain Farm. Glover Street Market and Cameron Green did the catering. All the food was locally produced or sourced. Featured farms included the members of Okanogan Producers Marketing Association, Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards and of course, Bluebird Grain Farms. The menu featured a cheese course with some local and regional cheeses, local bread and wonderful fruits and preserves. There was wine from Hard Row to Hoe and beer from the Twisp River Pub. Three salads had fresh beans, squash, eggplant and heirloom tomatoes among other local vegetables. Add to that, cedar plank grilled salmon and paella topped with Penn Cove mussels and then there was pie from the Mazama Store! Oh my gosh. It was a dinner to remember. And for a good cause. I think everyone left happy and satiated.
