Linnea and Drew chose Skalitude for their wedding celebration for its connection to nature’s wildness and beauty and the vastness of the wide open spaces of this place. It was perfect for their wedding day. Their wedding party spread out around the meadow and danced towards the flag circle where the ceremony was held. The bride and groom were escorted altogether by their families – parents, siblings, nieces and nephew. As the families were seated, Linnea and Drew walked around the circle joining together at the front with their officiant. It was quite lovely. After the ceremony children with long purple ribbons dance around the happy couple.

One of their family members is a Mexican chef who made wonderful tamales while lots of folks chipped in to chop vegetables and prepare the marvelous sauces that went with the food. Instead of a big cake, there were numerous kinds of cupcakes and guests were able to add their own choices of frostings and sprinkles too!

The evening light was stunning and the temperature was just right – not too hot – for everyone to enjoy the party.
