Sarah and Chris celebrated their wedding recently at Spring Creek Ranch on the outskirts of Winthrop. It was a glorious late spring day with puffy clouds, lots of sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures. Chris is a smokejumper at the North Cascades Smokejumper Base here in the valley. Sarah is finishing her residency in Ottawa. They have had a long-distance relationship for a long time. Their friends and family arrived from all over the US and Canada bringing lots of little kids and a dog too. It was a perfect day for everyone to play in the grassy areas surrounding the ranch house.
Each guest received a piece of paper with a scavenger hunt of sorts. They were to find people who they may or may not know and do something that was described on that piece of paper. Also, they had to photograph these often silly activities with their smart phones and upload them via a WiFi connection so the photos would run during the reception as a slide show under the big tent! It made for some fun times and quite a few photo bombs. One of the little nephews even got in the spirit during the ceremony. There was also the secret college handshake and a few mule deer that wandered through the ranch during the afternoon and evening. A fun time was had by all.
