Winter Wedding

A winter wedding was scheduled for the day after Christmas in the Methow Valley near Twisp. The couple wanted a snowy scene. Little did they know that all of western Washington would also be blanketed with snow for the holiday! They planned a big family Christmas celebration in a large house near the Methow River and despite hair raising mountain passes, everyone managed to arrive in time.

The temperature was ten degrees, Fahrenheit, with a light breeze and it was snowing! The groom’s brothers and the officiant shoveled the powder snow to make a place for everyone to stand. Most everyone held up alright except for some of the small children who were anxious to get inside. My fingers were pretty cold when the ceremony was finished and I was grateful for the warm house too. The bride and groom and their dog barely noticed the cold. They were so happy!

It was a beautiful setting for a beautiful family celebration!

I have such a fun job and always get to meet the most interesting people. Thank you so much.
