Two grandmas, their kids and their spouses, and a bunch of grandkids gathered at a charming Lost River Cabin last week to share some fun and food and good times. They came from New Jersey, northern California and western Washington to this special place at the base of the North Cascades near Mazama. It was a near perfect evening, not too hot and enough of a breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Kids had fun and shared stories with their cousins while dinner was prepared. And when it was served in a heap, directly on the tablecloth, all activity came to a halt! It’s not everyday that you see an authentic shrimp boil in the upper Methow Valley! After the wonderful meal, the grandmas led the children on a scavenger hunt while the parents relaxed around the campfire. It was a lovely evening.
